This Eptinezumab biosimilar antibody uses the same variable regions as the therapeutic antibody Eptinezumab, making it ideal for research use. Eptinezumab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that specifically targets calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide that plays a central role in migraine pathophysiology. CGRP is widely expressed in sensory neurons of the trigeminovascular system and is a potent vasodilator and mediator of neurogenic inflammation. Elevated CGRP levels are associated with migraine attacks, where it contributes to vasodilation, nociceptive signaling, and central sensitization. By binding soluble CGRP with high affinity, Eptinezumab prevents CGRP from engaging its receptor complex (CLR/RAMP1), thereby inhibiting downstream signaling pathways involved in migraine initiation and propagation. Clinically, Eptinezumab has demonstrated efficacy in reducing migraine frequency and severity in patients with episodic and chronic migraine.
